About our Summer 2010 Trip
In the 1st week in August the Del Val High School team made the long treck north again to a place where your home could be on nothing more than a postage stamp size of land surrounded by water!
We brought our Jr High Team and had a total of 31 Del Val wrestlers with us.
Our Jr High Team finished 3rd out of 20 teams with a 3-1 record.
This group of guys have gone from 13th, to 9th, to 3rd in our 3 years in the Jr High Event!
Jr High Dual results:
DV defeated Midlakes
DV defeated North Country
Club Chin Dip 31 DV 30 (Jr High Champions)
DV defeated Nazareth
Del Val High School team won the White bracket and finshed with a 3-2 record.
In 6 years of wrestling in the event, we have finished 3rd and 7th overall, and won 2 brackets!
Dual results:
Lewis County I defeated DV (Collection of 4 NY state teams, bracket finalist)
Suburban Council defeated DV (Collection of 4 NY state teams, bracket finalist)
DV defeated Lockport 21 (Beat DV in 2008)
DV defeated Wadsworth WC (Club team from Massachusetts)
DV defeated Phoenix (2nd in New York State and 3 state place winners on their team)
1000 Islands Duals
In 2011 DV will be making the annual trip again to the 1000 Island Duals. The dates of competition are Friday, August 5th thru Sunday, August 7th.
The Jr High Tournament is on Friday, August 5th and this is the 4nd year we will be involved in this portion of the event. The wrestlers in 7th thru 9th grade are eligible to compete in the Jr. High Tournament. Weigh ins are this same day in the morning.
The High School division compete on Sat & Sun (Aug 6th & 7th).
Weigh-ins for the high school tournament are late in the day on Friday, August 5th.
Tentative Travel agenda.
Jr High:
We will be traveling up to the 1000 Islands area on Thursday, August 4th.
The trip is about 5 hours in length.
We have a cabin that sleeps several wrestlers at the Edgewood resort (details below).
Once the Jr High tournament is over, the wrestlers may stay to watch the High School event or leave with a family member. There are many local attractions that make this a great place to visit with your family.
High School:
The high school wrestlers will be traveling up to the area on Friday, in time for weigh ins at 5:30 pm.
